Hygiene Bank supported with antiviral cleaning brand

12 February 2021

CLEANING PRODUCTS manufacturer Mirius, has announced its support of The Hygiene Bank to help combat hygiene poverty in the UK. As part of this new relationship, Mirius has pledged to donate over 120,000 bottles of Hycolin Antiviral cleaning products to The Hygiene Bank’s community projects across the UK.

Hygiene poverty means that countless people are unable to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving them caught between being able to heat their homes, pay the rent, eat or be clean.

The Hygiene Bank is a grass roots, community initiative that works to tackle hygiene poverty in the UK. The Hygiene Bank believes that it shouldn’t be a privilege to feel clean and that all people deserve to live a life with dignity, and so the organisation is dedicated to providing hygiene, personal care and household cleaning products to those that need them most.

Over the coming weeks and months Mirius and its antiviral cleaning brand Hycolin, will be working closely alongside The Hygiene Bank to help make sure that as many individuals as possible have access to cleaning products to help keep their homes and their families safe during the ongoing pandemic and beyond.

Mirius has committed to donating at least 20,000 Hycolin cleaning products each month to the Hygiene Bank’s community projects. Donations will include products from Hycolin’s antiviral range including the Hand Soap, Bathroom Cleaner, Toilet Gel Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Surface Cleaner, all of which have been scientifically proven to be highly effective against 99.99% of bacteria and coronaviruses. Hycolin’s Multi-Purpose Surface Cleaner has also been recently certified to kill SARS-CoV-2 virus, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Edgar Penollar, CEO at The Hygiene Bank said: “Many people were experiencing hygiene poverty before coronavirus hit and the number is expected to continue to rise due to the knock-on effects of the pandemic.

"We are very grateful to Hycolin who are supporting The Hygiene Bank, and their donations will help alleviate some of the pressure individuals and families face when unable to afford the basics. We also look forward to working to working with them in 2021 and beyond to raise awareness of the issue of hygiene poverty.”

Darren Landon, joint managing director at Mirius added: “Hygiene poverty is such an important issue and one we’re all very passionate about. We are delighted to be working in conjunction with The Hygiene Bank to provide Hycolin’s Antiviral products to those who need it most. We look forward to raising awareness and maximising donations across the UK in 2021.”

Paul Marsh, joint managing director at Mirius said: “We’re incredibly proud to be one of the businesses and brands that are supporting The Hygiene Bank in their mission to tackle hygiene poverty in the UK. This is such an important issue, and we strongly urge all cleaning and hygiene manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, retailers, and consumers to get involved in donating and supporting this vital charity”

All of the Mirius Hycolin donations delivered to the Hygiene Bank projects will be delivered as safely as possible whilst fully adhering to the government guidelines and social distancing.
