North West nursery firm, Rookwood, has seen days lost by illness reduced by 65 per cent over the past three months, claims Byotrol. This has been attributed to hand-sanitisers incorporating Byotrol's antimicrobial technology which have recently been put into place at the nursery. The biggest reduction in illness was found in the nursery's baby room, which saw a reduction of 87 per cent in days lost to illness compared to the same period in 2011.

Chris Moore is the nursery manager at Rookwood nursery in Prestwich, Manchester, who specified Byotrol products. 'In a children's nursery environment, coughs and colds are commonplace,' says Moore. 'I'm delighted that the risk of germs spreading from child to child at our nursery has been reduced, ultimately reducing illness throughout the family, thanks to this protection against bacteria and viruses.' Rookwood uses Byotrol-containing hand sanitisers in washrooms and at the nursery's entrance for staff, parents and children. This reduces the number of germs being brought in to the nursery environment by providing eight hours of germ protection.

'Byotrol is well known for long-lasting protection from germs, but its gentle nature is key for parents in giving peace of mind for the protection of babies and young children,' comments David Hartwell of Asepsis, which distributes the Byotrol products to Rookwood Nursery.
