QAC-free single-stage disinfection
26 September 2016
Evans Vanodine has introduced a QAC-free, alcohol-based, sanitiser to its range of bactericidal products.
ENSURE has been developed to meet the extremely high demands in the food and catering industry and contains active ingredients approved for use in disinfectants under the Biocidal Product Regulation.
The maximum residue levels (MRL) for benzalkonium chloride (BAC) and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DDAC), best known examples of quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs or quats), have been dramatically reduced. The requirement ensures food does not contain more than the acceptable MRL, which consequently has led to many food manufacturers deciding not to use QAC-based products.
Suitable for busy high risk areas, ENSURE can quickly and effectively sanitise conveyor belts, filling lines and general equipment. It will evaporate to leave food contact surfaces clean and disinfected in a single stage. It has been tested according to relevant European test methods and passes EN 1276, as well as EN 13697 and EN 1650 to demonstrate activity against bacteria and fungi.
ENSURE is also suitable in medical areas, laboratories, veterinary clinics and the leisure industry to help avoid the risk of cross-contamination.
