Evans Vanodine - Celebrating a century of cleaning and hygiene in the UK - Stand E10
11 March 2019
Evans Vanodine is marking its centenary in the industry by returning to The Cleaning Show after an absence of many years.
Over the past 100 years, the company’s products have not only been used by the British Team at the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games, but also used to protect the public, when moon dust went on show in Manchester, brought back from the 1969 moon landing.
Established in 1919 by William Charles Evans, under the title of W.C. Evans, in Salford, Manchester, the company has grown from one small laboratory and an office to become a world leader in the industrial, janitorial, food process and animal health sectors. Evans initially began producing spraying essences for cinemas and then branched out into manufacturing disinfectants, liquid soaps and various types of powders. The 1930s saw Evans secure its first export order and in the 1940s Evans even turned its expertise to preventing air crashes, by developing a jet turbine take-off fluid for the US Air Force.
An integral component of the company has always been chemical research and development, since Evans founder William and his son Derek, the current chairman, both set out as chemists. Their vision was for Evans to develop its own products, rather than rely on others to determine the quality of goods. This is a value the company still holds true today, with all the in-house laboratories having been rebuilt and expanded, as part of a new build extension to mark its centenary year. “Reaching our 100th birthday is a testament to the commitment of each and every staff member over the years. They have all contributed to the success of the company and our newly refurbished head office will ensure we can succeed for the next 100 years” said Chairman Derek Evans.
The Cleaning Show falling in the same year as its centenary is an ideal opportunity for Evans to remind everyone of all it has to offer the industry, in terms of products and expertise, both in the UK and worldwide.
Evans' stand at the show will be focusing on its expanding range of dosing systems and chemicals, including its latest range of dosing units for the e:dose super concentrate range. These units ensure accurate, simplified and economical chemical dosing, as well as enabling a reduction in plastic packaging waste. The range is geared towards the catering, housekeeping and facilities management markets.
Evans will also be showcasing its new skincare boards, which give guidance on best practice for hand hygiene. They have been designed for use with the Evans Evolve dispensers and cartridges, for critical and non-critical areas in healthcare, schools and general industry, as a visual reminder to clean your hands.
Nicky Biggart, UK janitorial sales manager, said: “We believe that educating and training users on best practice for chemicals and dosing can improve the efficiency of any cleaning regime. We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and years of expertise in this industry.”
Also on hand at the show, offering their scientific expertise, will be Evans' chief microbiologist and research and development chemist, giving visitors the opportunity to find out about the latest innovations and how to get the most out of its cleaning products.
Evans Vanodine are extremely proud to be celebrating a centenary in the industry and are looking forward to exhibiting at the show and meeting new prospects, with whom they can share their knowledge and move ahead together through the next one hundred years.
