ESA given warm welcome by the BCC

The Environmental Services Association (ESA) has around 100 members, two-thirds of whom deliver recycling and waste services, and is working with members to make the circular economy – where all waste is eliminated and resources are re-used – a reality.

The industry is set to invest £10 billion in new facilities with the right Government policy platform. 

ESA executive director, Jacob Hayler (pictured), said: “As well as working to bring about a circular economy, we aim to raise standards across the industry and drive out poor practices.

“We always look to build collaboration and work with partners. There is a lot of overlap with the BCC and lots of areas where we can work together.”

BCC chair, Paul Thrupp, said: “I am delighted to welcome the ESA as we share common goals in the desire to promote sustainability and high standards.

“Working together will make us stronger, help achieve the objectives within waste elimination and re-use and ensure the industry’s voice is heard.”
