Tata Global Beverage's Eaglescliffe tea factory, which is home to the Tetley brand, is said to have reduced its waste removal transport costs from one of its production halls by 20% by using a waste compactor.

Tata Global Beverage's Eaglescliffe tea factory, which is home to the Tetley brand, is said to have reduced its waste removal transport costs from one of its production halls by 20% by using a waste compactor.

Greenbank installed a Mobile Compactor model PCW20 to help the company dispose of a mixture of waste tea bags, cardboard cartons, corrugated cardboard and plastic film. Since the installation, skip collections have been cut from once a week to once or twice a month.

Manufacturing engineer,Mike Peacock, explained:"We were reorganising our production facilities and, because we knew we would not get contamination into the production process with a self-contained compactor unit, we were able to remove the walls surrounding the compactor which was really helpful to us.

"Greenbank didn't just sell or lease a basic machine but provided a full service, liaising with us to ensure we ended up with a solution that would work for us and achieve all the things we were looking for,"he concluded.
