Supercharge your cleaning business with UV-C disinfection products

16 September 2020

ADD THE full range of UV-C disinfection products from GOLDENSEA UV to your cleaning protocol to ensure a truly deep clean and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

With the easing of lockdown and recent changes in government guidelines, workplaces of all kinds are eager to open their doors, kickstart their businesses back to life, and recoup some of the losses inflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To do this quickly, a safe, efficient and reliable method of controlling harmful viruses is paramount to ensure the safety of staff and guests and rebuild customer confidence. The role of cleaning companies has become a key part of the fight back against coronavirus and new challenges call for new approaches to maximise the effectiveness of normal cleaning regimes to ensure a truly deep clean.

GOLDENSEA UV can help you achieve this easily, economically and reliably, with its new, complete range of UV-C disinfection lamps designed specifically for domestic and commercial use, and proven to cleanse objects and public areas of 99.99% of harmful bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

UV-C technology is proven, efficient and safe and, when used in addition to normal cleaning regimes, ensures the best, most secure and consistent results in minimizing bacterial and viral spread. What’s more, employing UV-C technology as the final component in your new cleaning regime, avoids the hazards and disadvantages of chemical sprays, such as surface damage, high running costs and exposure of staff to hazardous substances, and reduces the risk of cross contamination due to poor/inconsistent cleaning practises or accidental transmission.

Deep cleaning for all types and sizes of environment is possible with GOLDENSEA UV’s disinfection lights which are available in a range of sizes to provide ultra-violet disinfection for small, medium and large commercial and residential environments from hotels, offices, bars/restaurants to workshops, gyms, schools and other large public spaces.

The range includes solutions for cleaning surfaces, tools for cleaning the air and a cabinet for the disinfection of daily use items like mobile phones, tablets, headsets, microphones, masks, office stationery, make up tools, masks and other items.

GOLDENSEA UV launches Series to disinfect surfaces
GOLDENSEA UV’s “Surface” Series utilises 253.7nm UV-C lamps from Philips and Osram and is designed for the disinfection of commercial and residential environments on an industrial scale. The efficacy of UVC-disinfection protocols at inactivating viruses like SARS-Cov-2 – as proven by Boston University and numerous other studies – depends on the UV-Dosage delivered over time. For this reason, GOLDENSEA UV has produced a selection of different sizes of product - simply choose from one of 5 units to suit your needs.

GOLDENSEA UV adds products to disinfect the air
GOLDENSEA UV AIR purification solutions bring the same peace of mind and effectiveness as its surface cleaners, only this time for combatting the virus in aerosolized form.

UVAIR 216 is designed for large spaces; UVAIR108 is slightly smaller and focuses on hotel rooms and more personal spaces. Both units are equipped with enough power to allow decent air purification and turnaround. An ACH (Air Change per Hour) of 6-10 times is recommended.

GOLDENSEA UV AIR products are ideally suited to all larger public spaces like banks, conference rooms, waiting rooms, class rooms, public transportation and many more. The flexible AIR purification range can also be transformed into a surface disinfection unit, with all the safety features found in the Surface range, by simply removing the doors. HEPA filters are available as an option.

Why use GOLDENSEA UV-C products?
GOLDENSEA UV products are extremely cost effective with maximum return on a single investment: UV-C technology does not rely on chemicals, so there are no further overhead costs on chemicals, cleaning fluids or additional man-power. There are no hazardous fumes or associated wait-times for dissipation of fumes, so cleaning times can be massively reduced with rooms and public areas disinfected and ready for use often within an hour, guaranteeing a fast turnaround between guests.

GOLDENSEA UV products are the perfect solution for hotels, chalets, caravans, self-catering and bed and breakfast accommodation, as well as bars, restaurants, cafes, offices, factories, gymnasiums, clinics and conference and event spaces – anywhere and any business that cares for the welfare of its staff and customers.

GOLDENSEA UV products are easy to use, affordable and environmentally friendly. UV-C disinfection is a physical process that uses no chemicals, leaves no residue or by-products, and therefore leaves little environmental footprint.

GOLDENSEA UV products make use of ‘no touch’ UV-C technology. UV-C technology is documented to deliver “a sustained reduction in surface microbial contamination, a reduced cross-contamination, and reduced spread of multi-drug resistant bacterial infection.” [Evaluation of an Ultraviolet C (UVC) Light-Emitting Device for Disinfection of High Touch Surfaces in Hospital Critical Areas, Beatrice Casini et al, Sep 24 2019].

Safety by design
Packed full of safety features, all GOLDENSEA UV UV-C products are fully equipped with the following:

  • Motion Sensor – lamp automatically shuts down if motion is detected in the room
  • Visual Indicator – red and green LEDs light up (solid or flashing) to provide an indication of the product’s status
  • Audio Alarm – a built-in alarm provides audible signal to alert users to important stages of operation
  • Delayed Start – audio and visual indicators allow operator to leave disinfection area before lamp is switched on

Each GOLDENSEA UV UV-C product comes with:

  • UV filtering glasses
  • Warning sign for the operator to place on the door of the area being disinfected
  • Full user guide.

What is UV and UV-C?
Ultraviolet light is a form of radiation and an invisible part of the electromagnetic spectrum. It has a wavelength between 100nm-380nm. UV-C with a wavelength of 200nm-280nm has proved to be the most effective disinfectant wavelength in the UV Spectrum. GOLDENSEA UV products use the ultraviolet wavelength 253.7nm which is a highly efficient choice for disinfection. UV-C (in particular 253.7nm) destroys the molecular structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid) of microbial (bacteria and virus) cells, causing the death of growth cells and/or regenerative cells, thus achieving the effect of disinfection.

How does UVC kill/inactivate bacteria and viruses?
UV-C (in particular 253.7nm) destroys the molecular structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid) of microbial (bacteria and virus) cells, causing the death of growth cells and/or regenerative cells, thus achieving the effect of disinfection.

UV-C disinfection, or germicidal ultra-violet irradiation (UVGI) as it is known, was first introduced in the 1900’s, and remains in practise to the present day where it is widely used in hospitals as part of standard disinfection protocols. Compared to familiar disinfection methods that use liquid and powder-based disinfectants, ultraviolet disinfection lamps are extremely efficient and very convenient to operate.

As we come through this global pandemic, everyone is looking for ways to rebuild their business in a rapid, safe and responsible way. GOLDENSEA UV products can help you to safeguard the working environment for your staff and regain the trust of your customer base by providing them with the safest possible space to work in and congregate.
