On display in Hall 1, stand C23 at the Safety & Health Expo (14-16 May, NEC ), is a new, award winning, non-foam based kneepad which maintains its cushioning effect throughout prolonged use.

Cliff Lockyer, CEO of CL-7 which markets the 'Redbacks' kneepads, says: 'There are over 80,000 registered knee operations by the NHS each year, 60% are due to injuries resulting from soft tissue ''wear and tear'' or osteoarthritis caused by inadequate protection while kneeling - leading to costly down-time, pain and discomfort.' Winners of the '2012 SATRA Best Innovation in Occupational PPE Award', Redbacks feature a soft, flexible TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomer) leaf-spring set within a honeycomb matrix. The cushioning distributes body weight evenly, elevating the knees to relieve back pain and reduce pressure on joints, while minimising the risk of possible injury from sharp objects.

'Breathable', and washable, an antimicrobial version is also available. Email sales@CL-7.co.uk or visit www.redbackskneepads.co.uk
