Solution for fishy business

Lerwick Fish Traders is a large, fish processing company, producing 20-25,000 tonnes of gutted salmon per year. Its team of 130 people generates a considerable volume of laundry, much of it classified as high risk and stained with oil, blood and grime. The laundry works from 40 to 70 hours a week.

When it was time for some Armstrong laundry equipment to be replaced, after 15 years of hardworking performance, Armstrong again was successful.

The new equipment included two 23kg washer-extractors and a Huebsch 35lb tumble dryer. 'We have dedicated the new Armstrong equipment to the high risk work and they are wonderful,' says Lerwick's Janis Crerar. 'They are better, quicker and more efficient than the ones they replaced and we never have to do a re-wash.'
