Manufactured under licence in the UK and Europe by the Disposables UK Group, many of the hand towels, toilet tissue and foam soap products in the Bay West range are accredited with the prestigious EU Ecolabel certification. Eco-label criteria are based on studies which assess the impact of the product on the environment throughout its life-cycle, starting from raw material extraction in the preproduction stage, through production, distribution and disposal.
Key issues include the source of the fibres, the chemicals used in the production process, whether or not the production facility meets EU emission guidelines, whether it's energy efficient, how the washroom waste is minimised and dispenser efficiency.
"While recycled paper products and improved dispenser designs have gone some way towards creating a greener environment, this is still not enough for washrooms to be considered truly green,"comments Emma Wood, Marketing Manager.
"Customers can now look to Disposables UK for independently assessed hand towels, toilet tissue and soap cartridges that are genuinely green and add significant value to the workplace experience."
