Tork champions efficiency and wins an award at Interclean
07 May 2026
EFFICIENCY, SUSTAINABILITY and inclusive hygiene were the key themes being highlighted on the Tork stand at Interclean.

And the company was proud to receive a prestigious award for its Tork Inclusive Hygiene in Public Washrooms Initiative.
“The show went really well for us,” said Essity's Segment Marketing Manager Ineke Van den Bemt. “We had a good mix of visitors and our message was highly cohesive. The overall theme was about sustainability but everything on the stand was connected – Tork PaperCircle, Inclusive Hygiene and dispensers that work efficiently and that reducewaste.”
Tork is leading a global initiative to make public spaces more welcoming, equitable and functional for all. The aim is to remove barriers and ensure that publicly-used washrooms meet the hygiene needs of as many people as possible.
The Tork Inclusive Hygiene in Public Washrooms Initiative received the Amsterdam Innovation Award in the “Sustainability & Environment” category.
“We are incredibly proud that our Inclusive Hygiene in Public Washrooms Initiative has been recognised by the Amsterdam Innovation Awards at Interclean 2026,” says Anna Königson Koopmans, Marketing Director, Segments for Essity’s professional hygiene business. “This achievement highlights our ongoing commitment to giving people comfortable access to sustainable hygiene solutions through cleaner, more welcoming spaces.”
Also on show was Tork PaperCircle®, the world’s first paper hand towel recycling service. Customers signing up for Tork PaperCircle have their used washroom hand towels picked up from their business premises and taken to local recycling centres where they are turned into other tissue products. The service supports circularity and reduces environmental impact.
Tork Focus4 Sustainability was another stand highlight. This platform provides the holistic information, tools and training needed to allow customers to meet their sustainability goals. Tork Focus4 Sustainability promotes transparency and provides a comprehensive summary of the key sustainability benefits of selected Tork systems.
supporting circularity and reducing environmental impact.
The new Tork PeakServe® Automatic Dispenser was also on show. The dispenser incorporates long-lasting batteries and delivers each towel in less than a second for maximum operational efficiency. It is the highest-capacity paper towel dispenser on the market.
And creating a stir on the stand was Tork XperienceTM which used animated motion graphics and 3D visuals to create an eye-catching display. Claimed to be a first-of-its-kind application in the hygiene industry, Tork Xperience took visitors on an interactive journey and told the Tork brand story through a virtual interface delivered via a transparent OLED touch screen.
Tork thought leaders participated in key discussions throughout the event and sharedinsights on the latest trends in digitalisation, sustainability and inclusive hygiene. Session topics included: harnessing data for efficient and sustainable cleaning, the business value of inclusive hygiene and new approaches for healthcare and public environments.
