Cleaning Success Soars to 215million square feet
18 May 2023
Cleaning Matters examines Albert, one of the largest retail brands in the Czech Republic, which has announced a significant milestone for its autonomous robotic cleaning fleet.
IN COLLABORATION with Brain Corp and Tennant Co, Albert's fleet of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) has successfully cleaned more than 215million square feet since their deployment in the second half of 2022. This accomplishment marks a major achievement in the automation of cleaning processes within Albert's hypermarkets and distribution centres.
Expanding robotic cleaning operations
With the remarkable success of their initial AMR deployments, Albert plans to substantially increase the number of stores benefiting from this cutting-edge technology in 2023. The company aimed to nearly double the count of robots operating in its stores by the end of March.
Albert's operations support manager, Pavel Klemera, says that the integration of autonomous scrubbers allows for precise and thorough cleaning, eliminating any oversight in cleaning spaces. “Robots help our employees to save their effort so they can use the time to elevate our customer´s experience," he explained.
Albert's successful adoption of autonomous robotic cleaning is made possible through a collaboration with Brain Corp and Tennant Co.
Brain Corp, a global leader in robotic AI software, is renowned for its cloud-connected platform, BrainOS. This platform enables the creation of scalable, self-driving robots that operate in commercial public spaces. Fortune 500 brands in various industries benefit from BrainOS-powered robots, which can clean floors, move inventory, and gather environmental data. With over 26,000 AMRs currently in operation, Brain Corp holds the largest fleet of its kind in the world.
Tennant Company, established in 1870, is a world leader in designing and manufacturing solutions for creating cleaner, safer, and healthier environments. With a wide range of products and sustainable cleaning technologies, Tennant Company serves industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments.
By leveraging the power of BrainOS, Brain Corp's advanced AI automation platform, and equipping the robots with Tennant T380AMR and T7AMR scrubbers, Albert has achieved a fully automated floor cleaning system. These state-of-the-art robots possess the ability to safely and efficiently navigate dynamic retail environments while performing their cleaning duties.
The partnership between Albert, Brain Corp, and Tennant Co. extends beyond the robots themselves. BrainOS Mobile, an integral part of the BrainOS platform, provides store managers with essential fleet management tools. With this software, managers can easily monitor the operation and performance of the cleaning machines, ensuring that work is carried out according to schedule and to the highest standards.
Transforming retail operations
The integration of autonomous robots into Albert's stores exemplifies its forward-thinking approach to technology adoption. Michel Spruijt, chief revenue officer at Brain Corp, highlighted how the most progressive retailers, including Albert, are embracing technology and transforming their operations.
He observed: “Through their national deployment of AMRs, the team at Albert have clearly demonstrated their highly progressive approach to supporting workforces and future-proofing their store operations using the very latest innovations that technology has to offer."
Bruno Ferraty, senior manager strategic accounts EMEA at Tennant Co added: “Our partnership with Albert stores is a great example of the immediate impact a successful integration of robotic floor scrubbers can have on daily store operations.
"We have a keen focus on providing our customers with the very best tools, able to help them run their operations effectively and efficiently and are excited to continue working with pioneering retailers like Albert and others across the globe."
