New foundation supports UK charities
05 May 2020
The chairwoman of a successful Sale based company has announced the launch of a new foundation, set up to honour the legacy of her husband who passed away 10 years ago, which will provide vital funds to a number of Cheshire based charities.
Linda Wyers, chairwoman of The Floorbrite Group, developed The Martin Charles Wyers Foundation with the aim of truly making a difference to the local communities. The Foundation’s first charity partners, which will equally share all funds raised through the foundation throughout 2020, are:
- The Homeless through SPIN (Supporting People In Need)
- The Wythenshawe Trust, which supports families and individuals in need
- Francis House, which supports and looks after sick children and their families.
Each year The MCW Foundation will choose new charities to support for that year.
Linda said: “During Martin’s lifetime he supported many local causes, especially for young people in the community and over the years Floorbrite, and the family, have continued to support local charities - but we feel the time has come to take our fundraising to the next level.
“The MCW foundation will raise money to help people who are desperately in need such as: the homeless; vulnerable; disadvantaged families; and people affected by life changing illnesses. We very much hope that our clients, suppliers, and staff will help support us in raising vital funds for our chosen charities.”
Founded in 1972 by Martin Wyers, The Floorbrite Group is today headed up by second generation Wyers: managing directors, Nik and Alex; marketing and brand director, Nina; and Linda on the board as chairwoman. The £20million turnover company provides a full suite of facilities management provisions and employs more than 1500 staff across the UK.
