Two AC37AV-CFA special heavy duty ATEX approved vacuum cleaner units have been installed at British Gypsum, at Barrow Works in Leicestershire. The company called in Nilfisk-CFM when one old vacuum unit in use was beyond economic repair. A second machine in use was being hired at considerable cost.

The British Gypsum mixing tower is classified as Zone 22 and required ATEX approved vacuum cleaners for the safe removal of potentially explosive dusts.

'The engineer conducted a full survey of our previous system and recommended a solution that allowed for the retrofitting of the new high power vacuum units,' comments Peter Donohoe, engineering manager for British Gypsum. 'Noise levels were of prime concern due to the potential impact on local residents. The units are now much quieter and performing very well.'
