ICE passes with flying colours

09 March 2015

ICE have been presented with an award by Axis Cleaning Support Services for the successful mobilisation of cleaning equipment to one of the largest passenger aircraft manufacturers in the world.

The team at ICE showed true customer commitment by installing 193 machines, and training 85 operatives at two locations in just five days.

The ICE team were on call 24 hours a day for four days, to fit the training around the 24-hour cleaning rota. To prepare for this rollout, seven ICE engineers were required to complete a number of training courses including IOSH Health and Safety training, UKATA training, and onsite induction training.

Victoria Shannon, account manager for ICE, said: "This was a very complex order to mobilise and install. The long hours were challenging, but the keenness and help from everyone involved kept the spirits up and the momentum going."

The variety of equipment that was delivered ranged from vacuum cleaners, scrubber dryers, and sweepers, to steamers, pressure washers, and air-vacs (specialist equipment for use on the production jigs). The ICE team provided expert training on all of the machines, and feedback from the cleaning staff on the entire range was extremely positive.

"ICE pulled out all the stops to ensure that a robust mobilisation and high level equipment specification was delivered on time," Stuart Buswell, managing director of Axis Cleaning Support Services, said. "ICE came up against short lead time factors and site access issues, but nothing prevented them from delivering and installing on time. A great effort form all the team at ICE, and hence the award for such a prestigious contract mobilisation."

Mark Bresnihan, managing director of ICE, said: "We were delighted to partner with Axis on this exciting mobilisation, and to receive an award for our efforts is fantastic!"
