Cost effective & functional
25 July 2014
West Berkshire Community Hospital provides healthcare services to over 100,000 people in the Newbury and surrounding areas.
Bellrock Property & Facilities Management took over a range of facilities management services at the hospital in June 2010 following the administration of Jarvis PLC.
For the six years previous to Bellrock taking this contract, Jarvis had been providing Katrin Tissue products and dispensers, via a framework agreement, from long standing Katrin distributor Premiere Products. Bellrock agreed that Katrin remained the most cost effective and functional solution that fully met the hospital’s needs.
Ifor Sheldon, contract manager for the hospital, said: "Katrin dispensers look modern and attractive and are very easy to clean, which is very important to us in terms of hygiene. They are simple to refill, which reduces maintenance and saves significant amounts of time for our staff (particularly for the System Toilet products where there are two large rolls per dispenser). They only dispense appropriate quantities, without any waste, which both keeps our washrooms clean and tidy and offers cost in use savings. And the lockable system eliminates theft."
The fact that Katrin products have a proven green heritage is also a bonus. One Stop hand towels are used in all clinical areas, System Hand Towels are used in general and public areas of the hospital where footfall is at its highest, and System Toilet products are used throughout the hospital.
