Infection control measures must be stepped up to prevent dangerous infections such as norovirus which can lead to ward closures that put a strain on patients and their loved ones, says Teal.

'The only way to prevent and contain norovirus is through washing your hands with soap under hot running water,' says Manty Stanley, MD at Teal.

'Ensuring hand washing facilities are readily available is also essential for maintaining staff levels as norovirus can swiftly take hold.' Teal's portable hand wash units can be used in areas where there is no access to mains water or drainage.

Models include the Hygienius Prowash, a totally hands-free operation, which includes a wash cycle, powered by TEAL's Greensensor, that exactly matches the requirement of the National Patient Safety Agency for the NHS.

Available to buy or hire, units have a 24 hour UK delivery time to help contain outbreaks.
