"An alternative product was used for a period of almost 12 months, which proved to increase machine breakdowns with increased costs for replacement spares", says Mike Fry, interim head of estates. "Busy wards need a reliable and hygienic system of disposing of human waste so we are very pleased to have resumed our relationship with Vernacare." Vernacare recently announced reduced medical pulp prices of up to 19%, providing the NHS with savings of £1.5m.
