Networking cruise makes a splash
22 August 2017
On 5th July, The Hill Club Summer Thames Cruise 2017 received a record turn-out as almost 250 cleaning and associated industry professionals boarded the MV Erasmus at Tower Millennium Pier to enjoy the sights of the capital by riverboat on what felt like the hottest day ever.
The afternoon was jam packed with fantastic food, much-needed cold refreshments and the usual great conversation and networking.
The day also offered the perfect opportunity to celebrate some wonderful things happening in the cleaning industry and recognise those people that keep it running: the cleaning operatives!
With award categories for Customer Service, Best Kept Cleaning Cupboard, Supervisor of the Year and the coveted Cleaner of the Year up for grabs, enormous congratulations go to all the worthy and deserving award winners and those highly commended by the judging panel for their hard work in achieving performance excellence. In addition, this year’s Special Award for Excellence in Education was sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.
During the day, The Hill Club was delighted to present money raised from its recent Charity Golf Open with over £1000 being split equally between Prostate Cancer UK and The Eve Appeal. The networking organisation also welcomed on board its good friends from the Living Wage Foundation.
Phil Smith, Hill Club Chairman, said: “The Hill Club Summer Thames Cruise is now a firmly established favourite in the cleaning industry calendar and this year’s event was exceptional. To see the best-of-the-best recognised and receive the acclaim they deserve is a truly uplifting experience and we were delighted to share this with so many guests."
He added: "Our thanks goes, as always, to our incredible supporters – to Pearroc this year’s Principal Sponsors; Metsa Tissue who supported the Champagne Reception; our media partners Cleaning Matters for providing the event programmes and to all our individual award sponsors CBRE, AMFM, Janitorial Express, LCC, Darwin Clayton, The Facilities Event & The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners – and to all our friends and colleagues who attended. Planning is already underway for 2018’s cruise and we look forward to welcoming even more next July!”
The Hill Club's next get-together will be its 'September Soiree Networking Event' which will take place at the Rotunda Bar & Restaurant in London on Thursday 28th September 2017 from 17:00 to 21:00 (BST).
As is traditional with its late Summer event, the networking organisation will have a larger indoor space and an exclusive reserved section of the stunning outdoor terrace, overlooking the riverboats of the Regents Canal & Battlebridge Basin.
With the (admittedly remote) prospect of the fabled 'Indian Summer' sunshine, along with Rotunda's delicious edible and drinkable hospitality, The Hill Club hopes you can join them for another evening of great conversation and unrivalled opportunity!
