The Hill Club Summer Cruise sets sail
15 August 2018
On 5th July, The Hill Club Summer Thames Cruise 2018 – in partnership with The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners – received a fantastic turn-out once again as almost 300 cleaning and associated industry professionals boarded the MV Erasmus at Festival Pier to enjoy the sights of the capital by riverboat on a beautiful summer's day.
They were greeted with fantastic food and refreshments as well as unrivalled networking opportunities.
The return of the Cleaning Industry Awards also offered the perfect opportunity to celebrate some wonderful things happening in the cleaning industry and recognise those people that keep it running: our cleaning colleagues!
With award categories for Best Customer Service, Rising Star of the Cleaning Industry, Best Kept Cleaning Cupboard, Supervisor of the Year and the much coveted Cleaner of the Year up for grabs, enormous congratulations go to all the worthy and deserving award winners and those highly commended by the judging panel for their hard work in achieving performance excellence. Once again, the Special Award for Excellence in Education was sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.
During the day, The Hill Club was delighted to present money raised from its recent Charity Golf Open with over £2000 being shared between Prostate Cancer UK, The Eve Appeal and The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.
Phil Smith, Hill Club chairman, said: "We always wonder if interest in our events has peaked, but every year attendance breaks records and the enthusiasm for our awards hits new heights. With more organisations already expressing interest in supporting the Club, sponsoring awards and putting their hard-working colleagues forward for well-deserved recognition I, and the rest of the Hill Club’s Committee of volunteers, are optimistic that 2019 will continue in that record-breaking vein!
"Everyone enjoyed their day and all around there were colleagues, connections and competitors chatting as friends and celebrating all that is great about our industry. The highlight though has to be seeing the best-of-the-best recognised and receiving the acclaim they deserve . A truly uplifting experience and we were delighted to again share this with so many guests."
He added: "Our thanks go, as always, to our incredible supporters – to Vectair Systems this year's Principal Sponsors; Pearroc Limited who supported the Champagne Reception; our media partners Cleaning Matters for providing the event programmes and to all our individual award sponsors Bridge Recruitment, Janitorial Express, LCC, Darwin Clayton, The Facilities Event & The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners – and to all our friends and colleagues who attended. Planning is already underway for 2019's cruise and we look forward to welcoming even more next July!"
