EnviroSeal certification
16 June 2016
Fiber ProTector Water Based has joined the growing number of WoolSafe approved products gaining independent green accreditation by becoming the first carpet protector to be able to display the EnviroSeal Mark.
The EnviroSeal certification programme, initiated by WoolSafe, is the first and only environmental certification programme outside North America, especially for carpet care products.
The European Ecolabel programme certifies many different products and services, but does not have a category for carpet maintenance chemicals. The environmental standards, EGTS:1502 and EGTS:1503 that govern the EnviroSeal programme, incorporate the latest European cleaning chemical formulation practices and legislation. Requirements in both versions of the standard are stringent enough to protect the environment but by no means impossible to achieve by current chemical manufacturing practice.
The Norwegian company Fiber ProTector Norge AS has been a WoolSafe licensee for seven years. The certification gives their customers the confidence of using the protectors on any fibre carpet and upholstery.
“The repeated recommendations of our products are highly appreciated,” CEO Espen Vogt said. “Now we anticipate even more interest in our product as we are able to demonstrate its environmental credentials by using the EnviroSeal Mark on it.”
