Cleaning increases solar panel output

The solar array on the farm at Spilsby consists of 204 Suntech 245W solar panels and SMA Sunny Tripower inverters. 

The farm owner, Mr Hall-Jones, noticed that his three solar arrays quickly accumulated a build-up of dust during harvest time. He decided to have one array cleaned to determine if it was worthwhile having his other systems cleaned.

Compiling his own data, Mr Hall-Jones was amazed by the increase in output Clean Solar Solutions' solar panel cleaning service brought. The system generated 59.3KWh before cleaning and 88.94KWh the day after the cleaning, equating to an increase of 43.23%, allowing for a 7% difference in the weather.

Mr Hall-Jones concluded: "I believe the clean will pay for itself in approximately ten days which makes it worth every penny. We will definitely be looking to clean each system regularly in order to keep the performance of the system at its best.
