A cool half

Chris Straker of Wimbledon based Straker Eco Carpet Cleaning has won six Green Guardian Awards since 2006.

The annual Awards are the culmination of the largest environmental awareness campaign in south London and cover eleven boroughs.

Straker was awarded 'Highly Commended Green Business' after winning 'Commended' in 2008 at The Kingston Green Guardian awards this January and in February at The Merton Green Guardian awards, Straker was awarded 'Commended Green Business' after being nominated last year but not getting an award.

Straker says his own personal highlight was receiving Wandsworth Borough Green Business of the Year in 2007.

Straker Eco Carpet Clean uses natural organic solutions and more environmentally friendly systems, to clean without leaving any harmful detergent residues.
