A plan for all seasons
07 March 2013
Welcome to the December/January issue of Cleaning Matters. It will soon be the new year, and time to take stock of this last year, and also look to the year ahead.
Welcome to the December/January issue of Cleaning Matters. It will soon be the new year, and time to take stock of this last year, and also look to the year ahead.
Changes are afoot in the industry, concrete change - one example being the new CHSA secretariat (see below) and also, more theoretical change to do with business practises and beliefs - one aspect being the debate on the living wage, which has forced the entire business sector and the Government to question itself.
But a new year usually brings optimism, aspirations for the year and fresh plans for success. ISSA's Keith Baker has contributed a great article on just this so why not see what he has to say on page 10.
Of course you may be tightening your belt and battening down the hatches. And a lean business is a good business, but don't forget that in these days of across the board cost cutting, it's the little extras that give your business that head and shoulder rating above the rest. Be helpful and proactive with your clients. If you see something that needs doing or have an idea which will save them time and money, they'll thank you for it and stay loyal, because they'll know that you are looking after them and have their best interests at heart.
All relationships are about trust, and business relations are no exception. Be accountable, give exceptional service and communicate all aspects of what you are doing.
All the best for the season, enjoy the break and have a great time!
