Odds of 166,000 to one

'That statistic is, according to the NHS, the number of germs per centimetre of skin between the fingertips and elbow of the average person. It doubles after you use the toilet apparently - an unsettling thought,' says Jonathan Hooper, marketing manager, Connect Hygiene Products.

'That statistic is, according to the NHS, the number of germs per centimetre of skin between the fingertips and elbow of the average person. It doubles after you use the toilet apparently - an unsettling thought,' says Jonathan Hooper, marketing manager, Connect Hygiene Products.

'So the odds of contracting an illness are clearly high. Unless of course, we, at the appropriate times, wash our hands with soap and water and dry them thoroughly; we recommend disposable paper towels.

'Creating a culture of great hand hygiene in the workplace should be based on dispensers that deliver the most appropriate levels of hygiene related to the usage needs - having surgical theatre hygiene standards in a motorway service area simply isn't necessary,' argues Hooper.

The Leonardo dispenser range, with proven cost in use figures, has been tailored to meet these requirements. From hands-free electronic dispensing to self-presenting roll towels, the range is flexible in meeting varying hand hygiene levels. The range now also incorporates two foam soaps, in perfumed and non-perfumed antibacterial. The latter has the maximum 99.999 per cent of harmful bacteria kill rate, and is for high hand hygiene areas.
