"If a company currently pays for fuel with company credit cards, it means a lot of administration each month," says Steve Clarke,The Fuelcard People's general manager.
Refuelling just two vans each week means eight to ten receipts every month to be collated and checked. Many firms will reimburse drivers who pay for fuel with cash or personal credit cards. This makes the administration task even worse.
Reimbursing staff is the least efficient way of paying for fuel, especially with the VAT issue. All invoices from The Fuelcard People comply with the relevant EU Sixth Directive.
Having the right fuel card will save firms 2p to 3p on every litre of diesel or petrol, nationwide.
