Blueleaf Care helping care homes improve sustainability
28 October 2024
BLUELEAF CARE took up a prime position at the Care Show in Birmingham to demonstrate its drive to help the care sector further improve its sustainability performance and reduce its impact on the environment, debuting the Blueleaf Bus.
The bottom deck of the bus, which became a landmark in the hall for visitors navigating the stands, featured a demonstration of Blueleaf's programme of bespoke business intelligence. The Blueleaf Care team was able to show visitors to the bus, how Blueleaf can give individual care homes detailed insight into their operations and procurement to help them make better informed decisions.
The top deck had a dedicated space for visitors to see how Blueleaf can also support them in achieving the Care Quality Commission’s requirement to be ‘well-led’, as well as showcasing n-kind – Blueleaf’s growing range of sustainable solutions, including its plant-based cleaning products which offer a completely new approach to cleanliness across care homes, and its new n-kind paper products made from recycled material with no dyes or bleach.
Nick Frogbrook, CEO of Blueleaf Care, says that there is a growing desire from care home groups to prioritise sustainability and the bus proved to be the perfect setting to talk about how Blueleaf can support them: “The Blueleaf Bus made a big impact at the show with visitors curious to find out just how we managed to get it into the hall. It provided a calm space to talk with people who are navigating some of the biggest challenges affecting their businesses and their care homes.
“Sustainability is high on the business agenda for many of our customers, but it is a complex, multifaceted issue, and it will take a collaborative approach to address it successfully,” he explains. “It is with this in mind that we have been developing crucial business intelligence for our customers, helping them to see the impact of their purchasing decisions and to make better informed choices on how to deliver more cost effective and sustainable outcomes within their homes and within their businesses.”
Blueleaf Care’s growing selection of sustainable solutions includes extensions to its n-kind range that will enable care homes to reduce the number of cleaning products they use and deliver the highest level of hygiene standards, while minimising the impact to the environment.
One of these was the newly launched n-kind wipe, which is a ready-to-use plant-based bio cleaner and disinfectant surface wipe, made from FSC accredited and sustainably sourced viscose eucalyptus material and n-kind's biodegradable, alcohol-free, VOC-free and food safe cleaning solution. Visitors to the bus also had the opportunity to see Blueleaf’s new n-kind paper products made from recycled material. The 100% ecological paper used to make the range is sourced from FSC® and PEFC certified forests – with no dyes and no bleach.
Members of the Blueleaf Care team were on hand to discuss its approach to knowledge sharing, best practice guidance and comprehensive training support, to ensure that products are used correctly to optimise product usage, minimise waste and further reduce costs.
