Record cancer charity golf fundraiser
20 August 2024
THE CLEANING industry has teamed up to raise a record amount of £14,500 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity at the Pearroc Golf Day 2024.

A total of 68 golfers from across the sector swung into action at the golf fundraising event organised annually by the janitorial and washroom supply company, smashing last year’s £10,000 total.
The popular summer event attracted more cleaning manufacturers and suppliers than ever before, with eighty-five guests also joining the post event awards dinner and charity auction. Held at Croham Hurst Golf Club in South Croydon on 11 July, fun was par for the course. To assist with the scoring and the fund raising, contenders were able to purchase ‘mulligans’, all for the charity. Bio-Productions were donned in alien costumes, and they delivered an out of this world experience, handing out a ‘shot for a shot,’ helping to raise further vital funds.
Many prizes were on offer including ‘Nearest the Pin,’ ‘the Longest Drive,’ as well as the overall winner. Darren Broad of Nationwide Hygiene took top prize, outscoring on countback Morton Elstrup of Chamberlaine Cleaning Services and Dave Piper of Source Supplies, who all finished with a fantastic 42 points.
Feedback from all the guests was exceptionally positive, including Barry Marsham, director of Pink Hygiene, saying: “I can easily state that, after playing in many golf days over the years, this is by far the best organised and innovative that I have ever been invited to. The auction amount that has been raised is amazing and I’m sure The Royal Marsden will be extremely grateful.”
Gary Henstock, director at Pearroc, added: ‘I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for their amazing efforts in raising such a phenomenal amount of money. Our team was proud to present your donations to The Royal Marsden, to help provide world leading care and develop life-saving cancer treatment.”
“Special thanks go to Angela Gill and Lyn Nardizzi from Bio-Productions, Vicky Anslow and Jo Long from Metsä Tissue, Sam Wilde from Northwood Hygiene, and my daughter Katie, on her summer break from university and last, but no means least, our resident photographer, Roy Winters of Safer Space Ltd.”
Ellie Davis from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity said: “We are extremely grateful for the efforts of everyone involved in The Pearroc Golf Day. The generosity of the participants, and the hard work and dedication to fundraising from Pearroc is exceptional. The fantastic total you have contributed will go a long way to benefit many people on their journeys with us, and their thanks, love and prayers are with you.”
The Pearroc Golf Day 2025 will take place on Thursday 26th June 2025.
