The Future of Cleaning unveiled

The publisher of Cleaning Matters has announced the launch of The Future of Cleaning, an essential annual guide.

The digital publication provides valuable insight into the challenges facing the UK cleaning industry throughout 2023. Packed with thought leadership content from the key industry bodies/associations, plus information on the latest products and services, The Future of Cleaning addresses all the significant issues.
From sustainability to new technology, The Future of Cleaning is an invaluable long term reference guide for the whole cleaning and hygiene sector.
A recurring theme throughout is the importance of sustainability. During the lockdowns of previous years, this topic had to take second place as industries addressed the immediate disruptive challenges of Covid, such as furloughs, infection prevention, PPE and staff sickness.
However, UK businesses are now reaffirming the drive to adopt sustainable practices and a commitment to achieving net zero goals which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This reflects across all UK businesses but it is the cleaning and hygiene sector that is leading the way.
Throughout 2023 Cleaning Matters will be supporting The British Cleaning Council’s campaign to ensure that cleaning and hygiene is recognised as a key, frontline service.
The BCC’s input into the All-Party Parliamentary Group enables our sector to take the Government to task. Recent recommendations, if implemented, will make the nation much more resilient to current common infections and also better prepared for future public health emergencies.
Technology continues to evolve, in particular robotics which is a major advancement in machinery for the cleaning industry. With concerns of staff shortages, due to Brexit, robotics is an example of how this sector could address this issue.
With all Covid restrictions now lifted, the Government has essentially washed its hands of informing the public of the importance of infection prevention.
Faced with massive ongoing public and personal health concerns, it is now our job to help minimise risks and help maintain safe and hygienic facilites for the UK’s workforce.
The Future of Cleaning reveals that this is a challenge that our sector is fully equipped to deal with.
