Recycled PET bottles enable sustainable cleaning

 
De Witte has launched Recycled Soft, a range of microfibre cloths made from recycled PET bottles. The Recycled Soft 100 consists entirely of recycled materials and is recyclable. The 83 version also contains 17% polyamide. By using rPET, CO2 emissions, water consumption and energy consumption of the production process are drastically reduced. 
 

Recycled Soft is a range of microfibre cloths made from rPET or recycled polyester. One and a half PET bottles are enough to make a microfibre cloth. To do this, the PET bottles are collected, cleaned and granulated. The scraps are then spun into rPET yarn and subsequently woven into microfibres. From these fibres, textile products are made. Producing rPET requires up to 26% less CO2, 31% less water and 44% less energy compared to the production of virgin polyester.  
 
The Recycled Soft 100 consists of 100% recycled materials and is recyclable. It is ideal for general cleaning of desks, washrooms and in the hospitality sector, but also suitable for industrial and car cleaning. The 83 version contains 17% polyamide in addition to rPET, for an identical performance to a classic microfibre cloth. The cleaning surface of the cloth remains uncoloured, to avoid additional pollution during production.  
 
The range is available in yellow, green, red, blue, black and uncoloured versions. The microfibre cloths are delivered per 5 in cardboard packaging. Cardboard consists of natural materials, and is highly recyclable and biodegradable. An excellent form of packaging to switch to a circular economy.
