Roundtable on The Challenges of Washroom Hygiene

01 May 2019

Industry experts from the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) and Evans Vanodine, a leading manufacturer of janitorial chemicals, will be taking part in the UK cleaning industry's first roundtable debate on The Challenges of Washroom Hygiene on 2nd May.

The debate will see experts from both organisations discuss solutions to key cleaning challenges, as well as comment on the latest technologies and innovations in washroom hygiene.

The event will be chaired by Cleaning Matters magazine and filmed in a TV studio-environment.

A video of the roundtable debate will be available for all to view on www.cleaning-matters.com, as well as on partner websites, at a later date - to be announced. A full write-up of each roundtable debate will also appear in the July issue of Cleaning Matters magazine.

“Evans Vanodine is delighted to be joining Cleaning Matters for their ‘Future of Washroom Hygiene’ roundtable event in May," Nicky Biggart, UK janitorial sales manager for Evans Vanodine, said.

"Making a good first, and lasting, impression is paramount in washrooms, whether that be to encourage repeat business in hotels and restaurants, or to ensure staff wellbeing in the workplace. Evans believe that educating and training users on best practice and establishing an effective work procedure can improve the efficiency of a cleaning regime.

"In an area where cleanliness is of the utmost importance, both surface hygiene and hand hygiene, as well as the need to maintain a pleasant-smelling environment, choosing the right product, for the right task, in the right area is essential, not only for the health and safety of the visitor but also the cleaning operative. We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and years of expertise in this field.”

The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) also explained its reasons for getting involved: "We hope by contributing to this topic we will raise awareness of the benefits of accredited training in washroom hygiene, including how this can reduce cases of cross-contamination for the wider professional cleaning industry.

"We will also discuss the impact effective training has for the cleaning operative including increased productivity, morale and staff retention."
