Steam & vacuum machines on show
17 January 2017
Duplex Cleaning Machines has been a leading industry expert in the supply of commercial and industrial cleaning machines since 1986 and will be exhibiting its range at the Cleaning Show.

The twin cylindrical brush Duplex machine made a huge impact on the cleaning machine market when it was first introduced from Italy in the mid-eighties and has continued to go from strength to strength ever since. With the introduction of steam to the 340 and 420 models in 2000 combining with brush agitation, the performance level reached new heights. In 2014, the 620 was added to the range and is available with steam.
In 2011, after a partial management buy in Duplex’s then general manager, Kevin Scott and office manager, Debbie Love became managing director and administration director respectively and continued to build both the profile and the reputation of the company.
Having both been with the company since the early nineties, Kevin and Debbie have built up a wealth of experience in all aspects of the business and together with a team made up of several long-serving cleaning industry specialists aim to provide customers with advanced cleaning solutions.
Recognised and trusted throughout the UK and globally, the Duplex range cleans all types of flooring from Altro safety flooring, tiles, rubber and timber floors through to carpets and most things in between without the need to change brushes. The secret to the Duplex machine’s performance is its contra-rotating cylindrical brushes. This design produces a thorough clean on all floor types. With the simple flick of a switch the brush height can be adjusted to suit the type of floor being cleaned.
The brush design includes thousands of special bristles, strategically placed across twin brushes which rotate at 600rpm. These effectively lift dirt, water and grime from the floor surface leaving it dry in nearly no time at all. The off-set design of the brushes allows cleaning right up to the edges, along skirtings, around furniture and fixtures and into corners. Quite simply, Duplex allows you to clean the most difficult to access areas with ease.
The Duplex Steam floor range cleans without the need for chemical and cleans and sanitises large floor areas quickly and efficiently using steam with only 20 minutes drying time on carpets and seconds on hard floors. The steam combines with brush agitation to produce clean, sanitized floors using minimal water.
The Duplex Standard floor range benefits from all the clever design characteristics of the steam model such as quick and easy brush change, pre-scrub facility, single-handed operation and right to the edge cleaning but instead of steam, features chemical fluid tanks so that sanitizers or detergents can be employed in the machine to kill germs and fight infection whilst delivering impressive cleaning results. Again, because of the low water usage of the Duplex machine, drying times are kept to a minimum making daytime or end of day cleaning a much less disruptive task than the traditional mop and bucket method of cleaning.
Many of our machines are accepted on the DEFRA Water Technology List meaning not only do customers save on water consumption; they also receive enhanced tax relief on their purchase through the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme (ECA). The ECA allows UK businesses to write off the whole of the cost of the equipment against taxable profits in the year of purchase. This can provide a cash flow boost and an incentive to invest in water sustainable products.
Duplex has a model to suit every size of floor so whether a small care home or a large hospital Duplex has a cost effective solution. The range starts with the compact Duplex 280 (which is also available in a battery version) through to the mid-range Duplex 340 and Duplex 420 models suitable for the small to medium size facility right up to the Duplex 620 which has a cleaning width of 55cm.
When you purchase a Duplex machine, the company says that you can be assured that you are investing in the finest machines on the market. Duplex works closely with its customers to ensure that its machines provide you with impressive cleaning power, build quality and ease of use. Recognised and trusted throughout the UK and globally the Duplex machine is the result of many years of the finest design, engineering and craftsmanship with each machine being hand-built in Italy.
Duplex is an ISO 9001 accredited company demonstrating its compliance with all quality standards related to the supply of products and services. It is also fully committed to WEEE (waste disposal regulations) as it continues to reduce the amount of waste of restricted materials entering the waste stream. Duplex products are CE compliant and conform to all essential requirements of the relevant European health, safety and environmental guidelines.
Duplex carries out free, on-site, no obligation demonstrations on a nationwide basis so that potential customers can see for themselves in their own environments the results it machines can achieve. Demonstrations are carried out by its own team of cleaning industry specialists who between them have over 60 years’ experience and can advise on the best machine for each particular application.
