Toni Robinson, Grundon's compliance manager, talks about their efforts to better manage their energy use focusing on how they use diesel fuel.

With their ISO 50001:2011 certification, they've found a way to improve their business, improve their overall environmental impact and keep their customers satisfied.

Grundon is a large family-owned supplier of integrated waste management and environmental solutions. Operating from depots across the south of England it works in partnership with customers to help minimise the financial and environmental impacts of their waste.

The company says: "We provide a total waste management service for the reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal of waste, delivered via a combination of specialist services, contract management and the operation of our own facilities.

"Our total waste management service includes the collection, treatment, recovery, recycling and disposal of non-hazardous waste streams, in addition to dealing with all aspects of hazardous waste, including contaminated waste, clinical and healthcare waste and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). We also offer additional services including special event waste management and industrial cleaning services."

Grundon is also active in the extraction and production of a broad range of aggregates and minerals for the construction, landscaping and leisure markets.
