The Executives, with outline provisional areas of authority, duly confirmed were:

  • Health and Safety – to co-ordinate all Health & Safety activity and practical legislative matters, inter alia, such as HSE edicts. Darwin Clayton will facilitate the Health and Safety Body, and approach the HSE Cleaning Industry Forum to advise they will be representing the CSSA at this forum.
  • Human Resources – to increase the knowledge and facilitate the improvement of the professional competence of members, which in turn will help drive industry standards and respect for all who work in our industry. The first key programme to be undertaken being Cleaning Apprenticeship. Mike Rutherford confirmed his election of chairman of Human Resources Executive.
  • Innovation and Technology – to bring to members and the industry the application of practical, scientific and other non-cleaning developments which can impact on all providers and users of cleaning and support services. Darren Marston will take up the mantel and drive the Innovation principle on behalf of the CSSA.
  • Marketing – to raise the profile of the association and the industry through the creation of a conceptual and deliverable statement indicating what we want to become and how we get there by setting a defined direction for the CSSA’s growth. Sean Taylor will lead the Marketing Executive.

The CSSA is now inviting businesses to designate appropriate members from within their organisations to sit and participate in the activities of the respective management bodies.

To confirm your designated corporate representative/s to one or more of the aforementioned CSSA executive management bodies email [email protected] with the names and email addresses of those nominees and the respective management body or bodies you wish them to actively participate in.

All remaining activities will, for the time being, continue under the direct control of the main board.
