Robert Scott acquires UTC
03 July 2015
The directors of Robert Scott Group of Companies have announced that, with effect from July 1st 2015, Robert Scott & Sons have acquired the total share capital of UTC - Universal Towel Company Ltd.

UTC will continue to operate and supply their range of products to the UK and European markets from its current bases in Horsham and Tonbridge, and proprietor, Tony Filer, will remain as managing director of the company.
Recognised as a leading UK supplier of cabinet roller towels, quality kitchen linen and industrial wipers in the UK and Europe since its foundation in 1957, UTC has over the last two decades seen expansion into the washroom product and dust barrier mat markets. Recent additions to the UTC range include a comprehensive selection of laundry bags, antibacterial kitchen linen and the new Kompatto fully retractable towel cabinet. The investment opportunities afforded by this purchase will enable the company to continue to invest in new product development within this growing market sector.
Alastair Scott, director at Robert Scott & Sons, said: "This is an exciting development for the Group as both companies have longstanding reputations for quality and service standards that we feel can only be enhanced by this acquisition. UTC share our values of excellent service levels and acknowledge that customer satisfaction is key to commercial success. Combining that with our joint expertise of textile manufacturing meant that UTC was a perfect fit for the Robert Scott Group."
