Fun on the fairway
23 June 2014
Following on from the success of last year's Cleaning Industry Charity Golf Open – supported by BICSc London and Home Counties region and Cleaning Matters – the 2014 CIC Golf Open was held at Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club in Ticehurst, East Sussex on 3rd June.
38 industry players experienced an enjoyable day of golf, great food and company, and fantastic weather.
The event was in aid of the Matthew Russo Foundation – which raises funds to donate to existing charities that support children with special needs and organisations that support families through bereavement. A total of £1103 was raised.
Cleaning Matters' sales manager Iain Houston, who organised the event, said: "Thank you to everyone who supported this year's Charity Golf Open, which was for a very worthy cause. Once again we got away with the weather and we are already looking forward to next year's event."
As well as providing the players with an opportunity to engage in friendly competition on the golf course, the day offered the chance to network and get to know industry faces in a fresh setting over a relaxing few hours.
Trophies for 'Longest Drive' went to Mark Culley, a guest of PR Court Cleaning; 'Nearest the Pin' was won by Joe Ring, a guest of City & Kent; Birdie Hole 10 was awarded to Jon Horton from Soluclean; and putting away the competition in the Putting Competition was Cleaning Matters' very own Danny Kosifou. The Overall Winners were Chicopee and PR Court Cleaning, with each team member winning a trophy, £50 of American Golf Vouchers, and a sleeve of balls.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who attended. A big thank you also to all the companies that sponsored a hole: Soluclean, Bunzl, Facilicom, BICSc, Janitorial Express, and NICE.
If you want to get involved in 2015 please contact Iain Houston or one of the BICSc LHC members. It's definitely not a day to be missed!
