Aprons play an integral role in every hospital hygiene and infection control operation, and bpi.healthcare has extended its disposable apron range to challenge the notion of one-size-fits-all solutions.
Lorcan Mekitarian, sales director at bpi.healthcare, explains: "Aprons have become such a mainstay product when it comes to hospital hygiene that their importance is often overlooked. The reality is however, they play an invaluable part in not only protecting the wearer from splashes, spills and other potentially infectious substances, but also in how that individual performs.
"For too long, aprons have been available in a restricted range of standard sizes. That’s great if you’re Mr., Mrs. or Miss Average but these days, let’s face it, who is? People, like hospital hygiene operations, come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes.”
To accommodate this growing diversity, bpi.healthcare has launched a more ergonomic apron design. Features include a wider neckline which makes the aprons easier to put on and take off regardless of the wearer’s physique, whilst broader coverage at the shoulder and torso delivers greater protection. Plus, to increase the ease of fastening, the apron ties have been moved lower down.
Lorcan concludes: "With products as mature and well-developed as aprons, it’s the small changes that make a big difference. We’ve not so much focused on reinventing the wheel but on making it more effective, more comfortable and more efficient.”
