Clean lights, camera, action

Speed of delivery was vital when A J Rentals received an urgent request for powered access machine hire from Swansea City's Premier League ground. With Sky Television due to cover a live match within days, the management of the Liberty Stadium wanted to ensure that all 212 lights in the stadium would be at their brightest.

AJ Rentals personnel quickly met with the stadium's maintenance staff, specified a Genie S85 boom, located one that had just come off hire, cleaned, inspected and serviced it and arranged for it to be delivered to the stadium - all within 24 hours.

With a working height of 27.90m, the S85 boom was easily able to reach all the lights around the 20,532 capacity stadium, enabling staff to inspect and clean them and replace any faulty bulbs.

"The floodlights are checked and cleaned annually, but with Sky TV due, we decided to bring the inspection forward. The A J Rentals boom was ideal for the job," says Graham Lewis, Liberty Stadium building services manager.
