CleanLink's cleaning industry software can keep managers in control wherever they
are thanks to its innovative application 'Site Manager', which, as the company's
Norman Haines explains, is now also available as an Android version
It's hard to imagine life before the advent of the app. What did we do without them? Technological breakthroughs in mobile communications have meant that we've made the leap from mobile phones the size of house bricks to smart phones and tablet computers in what seems to be the blink of an eye.
The incredible progress of this industry sector has, by and large, been fuelled by consumer demand - but it is increasingly being seen by companies as something that can bring substantial benefits to their businesses.CleanLink recognised that offering its tried and tested software, designed specifically for the cleaning industry, as an application, opened up huge opportunities for smarter working and and so it launched a version which works on all products running Apple's iOS mobile operating system- iPod, iPhone and iPad.The response to the application has been so great that CleanLink has now added an Android version.
Called 'Site Manager' the application runs on PCs with a link via WiFi, 3G or by docking to your iPhone, iPod, iPad or Android device. It lets companies manage their sites remotely by giving employees access to a huge amount of information and actions - all tailored to that company's specific requirements - from site details, work sheets and risk assessments through to stores, audits and budgets. Site Manager can also be upgraded to include CleanLink Payroll and CleanLink Invoice as part of the package.
Linked back to CleanLink's own web servers, the application comes loaded with all the information relevant to the client company so managers 'in the field' can pick up their tasks, complete reports on site in real time, and immediately update clients, improving satisfaction rates.
Managers are able to carry out site audits, scoring everything at the touch of a screen, knowing that the information will be captured by the app and reports will be compiled and saved. A traffic light system alerts the user to any issues - for example, a red dot to show that an audit is overdue or an orange dot to advise that it is due in a week's time.
The management of staff is also made easier by Site Manager, as appraisals can be done on site, and recruitment is also speeded up. Simply tap in the person's name, address and NI number, take a photo of them and their ID, and it's stored and sent back to head office in a matter of minutes.
From information such as what days the rubbish is collected on individual sites through to when PAT testing needs to be done, and the facility to order supplies, Site Manager is your own 'virtual' office. Because it's mobile and portable it allows companies to be more responsive to issues as and when they arise, and it promotes a greener way of working by cutting down on paper and unnecessary travel costs.
