Flood of technology
07 March 2013
Don Pringle, head of supply and
Don Pringle, head of supply and
systems at ServiceMaster Clean
and current chair of the BDMA has
been working closely with Caption
Data on developing its remote
monitoring system,HygroNet.
"In the case of emergency
work and water damage, where
time is of the essence, the remote
monitoring technology is a real
innovation," says Pringle."In the
past we might have had to revisit
a job multiple times to check
on progress. We can now cut that
right down to once for set up and
once to remove our equipment
and complete the work."
The HygroNet system is an
internet enabled temperature,
humidity and WME (Wood
Moisture Equivalent) sensor
system, with nine remote sensor
units which can be placed in
walls or floors and that connect
to a base station, reporting data
via the internet.
"It was quick and easy and it
gave us great control of the
drying process, alerting us of any
problems immediately," comments
Gareth and Keith Blower of
ServiceMaster Clean Shropshire.
