Spraying is suitable for sensitive areas where salt may corrode fittings or machines, or may damage foliage surrounding the area.

Roy Wolfenden, manager at Broadwood says,"One of the beauties of spraying is that you can apply ice-melt product with pin-point accuracy, and in a quick and efficient manner." Polyethylene tanks contain the de-icing liquid, which is applied via a 12v pump to the spray boom and hand lance. The spray boom is fitted with five spray nozzles on the main downward boom and a nozzle at each end to provide kerb and pavement treatments. These nozzles can be switched on or off independently, and on the main boom can be adjusted between single-jet, triple-jet and wide fan spray patterns.

All sprayer controls are operated by a cab-mounted controller, and extend to the internal baffle inside the poly-hopper, helping to reduce liquid movement in the tank.
