New battery concept
18 September 2020
THIS YEAR'S IFA Special Edition presented itself in a special guise at the beginning of September in Berlin in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Wessel · Werk, the German manufacturer of vacuum cleaner nozzles and accessories presented its new battery concept, consisting of an electric brush and a battery-operated vacuum cleaner pipe.
aAs one of the few exhibitors on site, Wessel · Werk used the special IFA format to present its battery concept to around 6100 trade fair visitors. The system combines the new EBK 250 electric brush and a battery-operated vacuum cleaner tube, which makes an electric brush usable for all vacuum cleaner types for the first time.
Wolfgang Geurden, head of marketing and sales at Wessel · Werk, said: "With our battery solution, we are right on the pulse of the times. The concept is modern, powerful and technically at the highest level. An unprecedented system with which we are setting new standards for floor cleaning."
The EBK 250 electric brush is equally suitable for the steadily growing market segment of battery-powered stick cleaners as well as for other types of mains operated vacuum cleaners. This cross-device use is made possible by the new vacuum cleaner tube with a powerful 3.5 ampere-hour battery pack. Whether back, sled or drum vacuum cleaner: the power tube drives the brush roller powerfully without the need for an additional power supply from the vacuum cleaner.
Depending on the type of vacuum cleaner, the tube enables around 90 minutes of cleaning performance. The EBK 250 is used on both hard floors and carpets and delivers consistently excellent cleaning values.
The electric brush has an exchangeable brush roller that can be quickly and individually adapted to the surface to be cleaned. The working width of 250 millimeters ensures comfortable and efficient work at the same time. An LED suction field lighting and the integrated tool for cleaning the brush roller round off the practice-oriented design. The ambient lighting in the nozzle interior also gives it an elegant component.
Said to have the fastest nozzle in the world, the feedback was consistently positive. Geurden added: “For us, the IFA is always an important platform for personal exchange and the ideal opportunity to obtain a broad range of opinions - also and especially in the challenging times as they currently prevail. Thanks to the exemplary organization on the part of the trade fair, personal participation was again possible this year without risk.”
In addition to the battery concept, Wessel · Werk presented another innovation for the first time at the IFA: Speed Glider - an attachment for its multifunctional ClickBrush vacuum cleaner nozzle. "The attachment is specially designed for cleaning carpets and is nicknamed 'The fastest nozzle in the world.'" explained Geurden. The special feature: Speed Glider has a rounded underside, which enables it to slide effortlessly over the carpet. This makes it extremely easy to use and enables a very fast and efficient cleaning process.
