Smart Buildings Expo announced
09 May 2019
Facilities Show 2019 will introduce the Smart Buildings Expo, along with a range of features to help the cleaning and FM industry to work smart and well.
The Smart Buildings Expo is a new area set to inspire over 12,000 global cleaning and FM professionals attending Facilities Show 2019. Held in association with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM), the facilities management, and workplace wellbeing and smart buildings event takes place at ExCel, London from 18-20 June.
Experience, educate and consult are the main themes of the Smart Buildings Expo. An interactive, life-size replica of a smart office is a stand-out feature. Created in partnership with Master Systems Integrators Vanti, this 196m² area enables visitors to experience first-hand how interconnected technologies can make buildings more intelligent and, ultimately, improve performance. Alongside this, visitors can get up to speed with the latest workplace technology and software trends in the seminar theatre and consult with experts in various disciplines of building technology.
Back by popular demand is the Workplace Wellbeing Show. Introduced as a zone in last year’s show, it has even more features including a Wellness Wall where experts from IWFM will share ideas on how to encourage workplace wellbeing. A healthy eating café will serve food and give visitors plenty of ideas for promoting healthier eating in the workplace. Experts will share content for FMs, HR professionals and health and safety practitioners in the Wellbeing Theatre.
A comprehensive facilities management seminar programme, across the different theatres, includes complimentary seminars and informative workshops covering key issues and industry trends. Once again, a line-up of three renowned speakers will headline the Keynote Theatre to inspire and motivate the cleaning and FM sector.
They are:
- Award-winning financial journalist and broadcast household name Steph McGovern
- Michael Edwards, better known as Eddie the Eagle whose heroic efforts at Olympic ski-jumping have earned him a place as a British sporting legend
- England rugby hero Jonny Wilkinson who famously helped his country to a World Cup title in 2003.
Around 300 exhibitors from over 40 countries will have solutions for FM requirements. The event covers all sectors from cleaning, maintenance, to recycling and energy management, mechanical and electrical, catering and much more.
The expanded event provides multiple networking opportunities, including the hugely popular FM Games Arcade. New for this year is Scalextric and a virtual golf area.
Free to attend, Facilities Show 2019 is co-located with three other shows – IFSEC International; Safety & Health Expo; and FIREX International. The event caters for those working across many departments, including building management, well-being and safety of people.
