World class keynote speakers to share infection control insight

29 September 2020

A WORLD class line-up of speakers will take part in Cleaning Interactive 2020, with a programme designed to inform, motivate and problem solve as we face a rapidly changing business landscape arising from COVID-19.

The online speaker programme, from 6-7 October, is packed full of best practice and free advice that delegates will be able to take and apply as part of their own cleaning operations and infection control strategies.

New era of cleaning and hygiene
Headline sponsor, Kärcher UK will open day one, following a welcome and overview of what’s in store from Ceris Burns, founder and managing director of Cleaning Interactive and long-standing PR consultancy, Ceris Burns International. The day will close with a presentation looking at some of Kärcher UK’s latest innovations.

Further keynote speaker highlights include Dianna Steinbach, vice president of international services from ISSA who will share insights and discuss opportunities and pitfalls, to help visitors apply lessons learned from COVID-19. The content is designed to help organisations create a new era of cleaning and hygiene.

Dietmar Bernstein, senior marketing manager at Unger Europe, which provides quality tools for smart cleaning, will present new ways of ‘Smarter cleaning for better infection control’ as we face the challenges presented by the pandemic.

The importance of taking a science-led, results driven approach to cleaning will be emphasised by expert cleaning consultants and equipment supplier, Denis Rawlins. managing director, James White and Werner du Plessis, sales manager, will be discussing their ‘Remove, Improve, Protect’, strategy.

Jason Tallamy, global CEO and Carwyn Humphreys, regional principle of Purex, will be asking ‘How clean is your clean?’ They will emphasise the importance of a two-stage process, as many people are still unfamiliar with the fact that sanitisation can only be carried out after the surface or area has been cleaned first.

The cleaning industry has an imperative role to play in implementing and delivering one of the key control measures against the virus. The importance of training and adopting the right cleaning process and methodology to help keep buildings operational during and following the pandemic will be emphasised by Chris Ryan, head of international business at the British Institute of Cleaning Science.

Mike Boxall, managing director at Sitemark Ltd will highlight the importance of benchmarking during the pandemic, so we can demonstrate the value of investing in well equipped, well trained and well managed cleaning services.

As we respond to COVID-19 challenges, John Dony, director of The Campbell Institute at The National Safety Council, the centre of environmental, health and safety excellence, will talk about ‘A Safer Tomorrow: Navigating the Changed World of Work.’ John will share new findings from an employer survey and future of work research effort (Safe Actions for Employee Returns) Initiative.

Transforming the industry

On day two of the event, visitors can hear from Syed Ahmed, founder and managing director of multi-award winning British IoT (Internet of things) hand-hygiene technology company SAVORTEX. His talk responds to startling hand hygiene statistics and will uncover what can (and is) being done to transform the industry and provide safer working environments.

Award-winning inspirational speaker, Marcus Child, founder of Positive Reframe will speak about resetting your mindset to increase business resilience.

In addition to frequent cleaning and effective disinfecting, sustainability remains on the agenda for businesses, schools, and workplaces looking to reduce their environmental impact. Toucan Eco will present its effective and sustainable way to do all of these things, removing the need for most chemicals as well as the single-use plastic bottles they are supplied in.

Nils van der Zijl, VP sales and marketing at SoftBank Robotics, EMEA will provide insight about ‘Meeting the challenge of COVID-19 with cobotics.’ The shift to cobotics (the collaboration of humans and robots) within FM and cleaning is gathering pace as businesses look for innovative solutions to meet heightened demand for cleaning services in the face of COVID-19. In this session, he will introduce the concept of cobotics and explore the benefits that cobots can deliver, driving cleaning performance and consistency, increasing productivity and freeing up time for frontline staff to focus on the deep sanitisation of hard surfaces.

Rob James, head of sales at Hillbrush and Lisa Brian, client marketing, strategy and communications, at  Addmaster (UK) will give a talk entitled ‘Targeted hygiene – cleaning for the future.’ This will discuss the difference between clean surfaces and hygienic surfaces and how new innovative technology can help both the food industry and the general public.

Complementing the speaker programme, innovative exhibitors will be showcasing a range of products and service that are transforming the sector. The final of the ‘Meet the Buyer’ competition will also take place to celebrate industry trailblazers. Finalists will present privately, live to the buyers on day two of the event, with top contracts on offer.
