Arpal Group scoops international growth gong
14 December 2016
RP Adam (Arpal Group) joined Scotland’s top family firms at The Herald’s Scottish Family Business Awards at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow attended by over 320 guests as they picked up the International Growth Award.
The award was in recognition of the company’s success in its key overseas marketplace and the significant expansion of its operations at Arpal Gulf, Arpal Qatar and through its manufacturing under licence partnership in Saudi Arabia as Arpal KSA. The Arpal brand has been visible in Saudi Arabia for 40 years.
RP Adam’s long term involvement in the Middle East began in 1976, when the company was exhibiting in London, and a chance meeting with a guest from Saudi Arabia led to the company’s current Chairman, Geoff Adam, reaching an agreement for the importation of Arpal branded chemicals into the Kingdom. 2016 saw Arpal Gulf Ltd celebrate 20 years of trading in the United Arab Emirates with RP Adam celebrating its 125th birthday.
Group sales & marketing director Max Adam said: “Having been shortlisted for Family Business of the Year at the Scottish Business Awards in November and then to win this it has topped off a really positive year for us as a company both in the UK and in the Middle East. We have worked hard to create more of a group mentality in 2016, and I am delighted the businesses have been recognised for our combined international growth achievements.
"2017 promises to be another record breaking year for the Group as we move towards our £20million turnover target, and with further significant plant and infrastructure investments in the pipeline for this year, we will continue to invest for growth.”
