ISSA joins janitorial products export group

14 July 2015

ISSA has become the first corporate member of the British-based Janitorial Products Export Group (JPEG).

JPEG was founded in 2001 by export managers from three leading British janitorial product manufacturers - Evans Vanodine, Truvox International and Kleentex - as a way to pool their wealth of knowledge about sales opportunities for products around the world.

The original founding members had realised that their companies shared similar and complementary distributor profiles and that shared in-market knowledge could assist and shortcut the route to market for each other. It was soon realised that this pool of exporting knowledge was a huge advantage and subsequently the membership rapidly expanded. Today JPEG has grown into a group comprising nine members with total export sales exceeding £100M (US$156M) and a presence in most countries in the world.

In addition to ISSA and the three founders, the other current members of JPEG are: Ionic Systems; Scot Young Research; Kennedy Hygiene; Dema and Plastic Extruders.

Peter Thompson, international division manager at Evans Vanodine, said: "The addition of ISSA as JPEG’s first corporate member has been massively beneficial. With this development, everyone is now well plugged into the vast assets that ISSA has to offer the global industry generally and particularly to those looking to expand into new countries or trade cross-borders."

Keith Baker, director of EMEA Services for ISSA, added: "I have tracked the success of JPEG for a little while now and have been most impressed by the contribution of each of its members plus the ethos and remit of the group as a whole. ISSA and JPEG share the same values of collaborative working, information exchange and a passion for developing the jansan industry so we really are a good fit together.”
