ISSA golf day drives the industry forward

08 July 2015

This year’s ISSA UK Golf Day again enjoyed glorious weather and some keen but very friendly competition when it was held on 25th June at the Toft Country House Hotel and Golf Club in Lincolnshire.

Twenty four golfers took part in this, now annual event and, without exception, all enjoyed the unrivalled networking and socialising opportunities that the event delivers – as well as their time actually out on the course.

This year’s event was particularly significant, as Gordon McVean from Truvox International supplied a silver plate in memory of Peter Holt. Peter was the former managing director of Truvox, Chair of the European Board of ISSA and a great contributor to, and advocate for the industry, who died so suddenly last year.

On the beautifully presented Toft course, the day featured the usual competitions with nearest the pin, longest drive, individual and team prizes and after many changes to the leaderboard, the individual winners were:

1st; Phil Smith, Facilicom, playing in the Soluclean Team.

2nd: Ian Knight, a member of the Vectair Team.

3rd; Russ Hoult, a Guest of ISSA.

Nearest the Pin was won by Ian Knight and Phil Smith also picked up the prize for the Longest Drive.

In the Team Competion, the Best Team was Jon Horton, Rob Sutherland, Phil Smith and Nick Cawthorne who were representing Soluclean. They edged out Tony Markham, Peter Van Herrewege, Russ Hoult representing CPD into second place.

Director of EMEA Services for ISSA Keith Baker was among those competing and he said that the day was "notable not just for the golf itself but the way in which the day provided a great platform for making new connections and sharing knowledge."

Anyone interested in playing in next year’s ISSA Golf Day should email [email protected] or phone Keith Baker on 07747 440468 to register their interest.
