New direction for sector

The National Flood School recently held the inaugural European Restoration Conference, under the theme of 'Environmental Impact' in Birmingham.

Keynote speakers and major European suppliers addressed the most current developments and innovations within the restoration sector. The event also included the re-launch of the new British Standard PAS 64 Mitigation and recovery of water damaged buildings code of practice.

The National Flood School has drawn-up an action plan focused on three key priorities identified at the event, to drive standards across the restoration industry.

'The main activity includes the introduction of a working party to look at connectivity between builders and restorers,' says Chris Netherton, MD. 'We are also launching a white paper, which will look at sustainable pricing to improve transparency, and an investigation into how technology can deliver best practice and cost savings in is also being carried out.'
