The face fits

The uvex UK sales team has undergone and passed the industry-recognised exam and practical assessment for face fittesting, meaning that they are now fully competent to fit uvex respirators.

To provide adequate protection, respiratory protective equipment (RPE) must be fitted and worn properly every single time it is used. The fit2fit (Fit Test Providers Accreditation Scheme), launched by the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) and HSE in 2009 to raise the quality of fit-testing in the UK confirms the competency of personnel.

Fit-testing by a competent person of tight-fitting respiratory protection is a legal requirement under (COSHH).

'There is no 'one-size-fits-all' with RPE,' says Nigel Day of uvex UK. 'Piercings, facial hair or stubble and scars can all affect the seal of the facepiece.

However, uvex has full fit-testing accreditation, giving the uvex RPE wearer total confidence.'
