Measure and improve hand hygiene

The new Ophardt Hygiene Monitoring System is a complete hand hygiene monitoring for hospitals. The new Ophardt Hygiene Monitoring System is a complete hand hygiene monitoring for hospitals. The dispenser system captures every dispenser operation and measures the amount of disinfectant used without recording the individual's identity. The data is transmitted securely via the existing WiFi network to a central server in the HMS Weco version. (In the counter-only version - HMS Counter, usage data is entered manually.) The user can then decide which times or locations s/he would like to analyse and review on the system. For example: How regularly were dispensers used in the surgical section, ward 2? What about the hand hygiene behaviour in the Intensive Care Unit within the last six months? The new monitoring system provides detailed information to questions that need to be asked to prevent issues, or address problems.

Based on the analysed data, improvements can be made in hand hygiene compliance.

Specific trainings can be offered to the medical staff or the number and locations of disinfectant dispensers can be optimised.

The HMS Weco also has an alarm function and automatic warning when bottle exchange is required.
